Tophi are solid deposits of uric acid crystals under the skin.
Tophi are found on the ear, elbows, fingers, knee, ankle, and toes.
Tophi are firm and solid to touch and are not usually painful.
Tophi are a strong indication that the gout is serious and hasn't been managed very well.
